Overlooked - Nothing Is Sacred
Si tu aimes Cut The Shit, Panic et le hardcore dans ce goût, avec un pointe de groove en plus, tu ne devrais pas être déçu. Le premier 7" des north californiens d'Overlooked, “Nothing is Sacred” c'est 4 morceaux de hardcore droit dans la face avec des putains de breakdowns. Ca tire sur le son du début du siècle ( Entre Tear It Up et Guns Up…). “Nothing is Sacred” est bouclé en moins de 7 minutes et pas le temps de s'ennuyer. C'est la 5eme prod du label Life To Live Records.

Ivy League est un trio texan qui nous emmène cruiser du côté de la scène pop. La comparaison avec des groupes comme Saves The Day, Lifetime, Title Fight, Polar Bear Club, ou même Rise Against s'avère assez juste . Ce ST est leur première production, rempli jusqu'à ras bord d'émotion et de passion. Ca va te donner envie de retourner aux beaux jours et de cruiser sur la côte avec ton fixie. State Of Mind – Knowledge of Self
"Knowledge of Self" marque le retour du groupe sur le devant de la scène. Depuis ses débuts aux alentours de 2005, State Of Mind jouait du hardcore de type New York, smooth et fruité, influencé par des groupes comme Maximum Penalty, Breakdown, Supertouch, et Leeway. Le dernier LP des hollandais, "Mental Gold" (une petite perle !), s'inscrivait pour moi d'avantage dans la mouvance (re)lancé par Justice avec ses albums "Elephant Skin" et "Escapades", à savoir du hardcore qui tire sur le rock, tout en gardant la rage de son style d'origine. Ce "Knowledge of Self" marche dans les pas de son grand frère, et montre que l'Europe est pleine de ressources.

Krakdown – ST + 2 songs
Krakdown ont commencé à jouer en 1985 aux alentours de Long Island et du CBGB's. Il n'aura pas fallu longtemps avant qu'ils deviennent partie intégrante de la scène New York Hardcore. Le line up de Krakdown a connu plusieurs remaniements, voyant défiler des mecs de Token Entry, Crumbsuckers, Grey Area, In Your Face, et autres. Ce disque n'est autre que le repressage officiel de leur "ST" sorti sur Common Cause records plus 2 autres morceaux. La version studio de "Krakdown" présente sur ce 7" n'a jamais été sorti auparavant. Il faut ajouter à tout ça un nouvelle artwork réalisé par Richie (Krakdown) lui-même. Ce 7" est limité a 500 copies couleurs et ne sera pas repressé. Krakdown c'est le NEW YORK HARDCORE.

V.A - New Breed Tape Compilation – Compilation [2ble LP]
La "New Breed Tape Compilation" est sortie en 1989 à l'initiative de Freddy Alva et Chaka Malik (Burn) avec un tirage limité à seulement 700 copies accompagnées par un livret de 20 pages chroniquant la scène hardcore de New York de l'époque. La K7 est rapidement devenu un classique, avec un line up de rêve : Absolution, Life's Blood, Outburst, Our Gang, Collapse, Breakdown, Raw Deal, Beyond, True Colors, Uppercut et un paquet d'autres. Pour la première fois, cette compile' sort sur Wardance records, en CD et 2ble LP, avec une reproduction du livret original + des anecdotes, un collage photo ainsi que 4 morceaux exclusif non présents sur le CD.

Kickback - Et Le Diable Rit Avec Nous
2012 sera l'occasion de fêter les 20 ans de Kickback. De l'eau a coulé sous les ponts depuis leur demo tape " The Meaning Of Pain". Les parisiens avaient déjà d'ores et déjà surpris tout le monde avec "No Surrender" sorti en 2009, entre hardcore sombre et black métal. Il faut croire qu'ils ont trouvé leur nouveau créneau car "Et Le Diable Rit Avec Nous" marche sur les pas de son grand frère. Surement le groupe hardcore français le plus emblématique, toujours avec cette attitude "je m'en branle" et cette haine à l'état pur. Que tu aies un point américain tatoué sur le torse ou les cheveux long et des rangers, "Et Le Diable Rit Avec Nous" va te mettre le revers de la gifle du précédent album.

Kickback - No Surrender
Kickback est revenu avec "No Surrender", après 9ans d'absence, pour pilonner le hardcore français comme ils l'on si bien fait par le passé. En constante évolution et réinventant sans cesse leur musique, les gars de Kickback ont coupé la chique a tout le monde avec ce nouvel album, entre hardcore sombre et black métal. Surement le groupe hardcore français le plus emblématique, toujours avec cette attitude "je m'en branle" et cette haine à l'état pur. Les patrons du NYHC actuel, Backtrack, ont bossé dur sur ce premier LP; "Darker Half." Ils ont pris la relève du New York Hardcore, là où Killing Time, Outburst ou Breakdown l’avaient laissé. Ce LP continue dans la lignée de leurs précédents skeuds : Hardcore groovy à la manière de leurs ainés ou encore Bad Seed et Trapped Under Ice pour les références plus actuelles.
